For all policies:
You are covered for the costs of canceling your trip if, on the day you're due to depart, your flight is delayed or cancelled and no suitable alternative is provided within 12 hours of the scheduled time of departure.
If you have our OPTIONAL Trip Disruption Cover:
You are additionally covered for
1. Reasonable additional accommodation and public transport travel expenses to continue your trip, if on the day you're due to depart, your flight is delayed or cancelled and no suitable alternative is provided within 12 hours of the scheduled time of departure.
2. The cost of canceling your trip if, within 7 days of your original planned departure, your flight is rearranged by the airline, meaning you miss 50% or more of your trip.
How your airline covers you:
If your airline changes your flight or cancels it less than 14 days in advance of your trip, then for most flights to or from the UK, the following rules apply:
If these changes result in a delay of less than 4 hours, your airline will not be required to provide any compensation.
If these changes result in a delay of more than 4 hours, your airline will usually be required to provide compensation. They will also be required to offer you rerouting on an alternative flight or a full refund.
